Is it true that you believe that audio is more important than video?
Actually, YES! Many beginner videographers start off by focussing only on nice visuals but really blow the sound. So while you may have nice images, if you can’t hear what’s being said, what’s the point? The viewer will soon get disengaged with the film.
In our video example below, I made a comparison with my two cameras at a recent wedding. Both cameras were side by side. One was zoomed in and it was connected to a lavaliere mic that was on the groom. The other camera just had an onboard mic. It was a very windy day as well. If you watch both angles with just sound in mind, it becomes very obvious which one has the better sound and will keep the viewers attention. Obviously, only the audio with the lav mic was kept in the final edit 🙂
So why show this? I simply want to demonstrate what you get when you hire a professional for your wedding film. Your investment should include a company that has also invested in pro audio equipment to ensure you will not be disappointment with the end product.
