About Us

Ocean Mist Videography was officially launched in 2005

At first we were strictly weddings, but we soon branched out into different avenues such as dance recitals, stage performances, editing services, various corporate work, and many other events.

While we specialize in life events, we also offer a wide array of videographic services to businesses, organizations, government agencies and non-profit groups.  We do not hide the fact that we are a small production company and that we cannot produce a very elaborate production with camera cranes, jibs and the like.  But if you have a small project in mind and a smallish budget, we may be a good fit.

Some of our recent corporate clients include:

  • CPAC TV, Ottawa: “Outburst” – Sept 2021
  • Tracy Perry Photography
  • Villa Saint-Joseph du Lac
  • Surette’s Island Bridge Committee
  • CBC TV – Land & Sea: Episode “Maritime Churches” –  March 2014
  • Tradewinds Realty
  • Hockey Canada – World Junior A Challenge, Yarmouth, NS – Nov 2012
  • Rotary Club of Yarmouth
  • Nova Scotia Department of Community Services
  • Canadian Food Inspection Agency
  • Nova Scotia Department of Fisheries & Aquaculture
  • Municipality of Argyle
  • Argyle Historical Society
  • Patsy Surette Photography
  • Yarmouth Regional Hospital

Our drive while filming live events is to blend in as must as possible and not to bring attention to ourselves.  We try to be a fly on the wall.  As filmmakers, we actually don’t like having cameras in our faces! We know many people feel the same way so we film from a distance while still getting creative and emotional memories captured forever.

So what’s in a name? Where did “Ocean Mist Videography” originate?

Well it’s actually a dedication to my late father who past away in 1993 from cancer.  His first lobster boat was named the “Ocean Mist”.  In this photo, he is shown in front of his pride and joy all dressed up! This was actually taken while on their honeymoon!  So, all our videos that have the Ocean Mist tag have been secretly dedicated to his memory. The secret is out!
